RAIPUR: In a bomb threat on a Delhi bound flight via Prayagraj from Bilaspur, the airplane had to get deboarded completely for sanitization purposes and the threat was found out to be a hoax.
There was a brief chaos for a moment among passengers boarded on the flight that flew from Kolkata and landed at Bilasa Bai Kewatin airport in Bilaspur on Thursday evening.
As soon as the information about the bomb in the flight was received, the district and police administration and along with the bomb squad team immediately reached the spot. All 22 passengers were deboarded from the flight. Everyone's luggage was checked.
All the officers, technical staff and the bomb squad team, along with the airport authority, conducted a thorough investigation of the entire plane. According to the police, the information about the bomb being placed in the flight turned out to be false.
After confirmation that the flight was safe, it directly flew to Delhi instead of hopping to Prayagraj.
Bilaspur SP Rajnesh Singh said that this afternoon, information was received from the Director, Airport Authority that there were inputs received on their Twitter handle that a bomb had been placed in the flight arriving at Bilaspur Airport.
As soon as the police were alerted, cops along with administration officials went to the airport.
After everything was found to be fine, the flight was sent to Delhi.
